Well this sucks!

All set to clinch the Stanley Cup. I suppose that was a bit prideful, but who doesn't think their team is going to pull it off when it's only one game that needs to be won?! Even let the 8 year old stay up for the WHOLE thing. We were on the edge of our seats. There was truly nothing more Ozzy could have done. Nothing more the team could have done, aside from getting a goal actually in the net. So we live to fight another day, live to need tums another evening, live to allow an 8 year old to watch and hold his breath. He set up his webkinz appropriately named Stanley Pup the chocolate lab, the Chihuahua Nicholas (for Lidstrom), his penguin Zetterbird, and his frog Osgood. Hat trick his Red Wings dog was even watching the game. In the end he went to bed in tears. We went to bed frustrated as well.
I could whine and say that if the refs had a clue what goalie interference actually was the game would have been different, but...now we wait.
Wait for a new day, a new game, and a new desire to win.
Can the Wings pull it off...You better believe it! Will we let our 8 year old watch and wait again...oh yeah! If nothing else, we now won't have to worry about pulling the kids out of school to make to the parade.
